TRANSITION TO InSite!!!
Dickinson Press customers are encouraged to use a new service for managing their book production. As one of the early adopters of computer-to-plate technology to the book making process, Dickinson Press now offers customers “InSite” for ease of workflow with books.
What’s InSite? The InSite Prepress Portal is a Kodak product and is an Internet-based solution that connects print buyers and creative professionals with the prepress workflow for job submission, remote proofing, and approval management. In addition to these advantages, Dickinson customers will benefit from reduced errors, quicker turn around of book production, and reduced costs.
How does InSite work? Customers use the InSite portal to upload files much the same as uploading files to the DPI ftp site. Almost instantly, the files go through a pre-flighting process. Customers, and DPI customer service reps, will receive an automatic e-mail notification that the files have been received and have been through a preflight check. There will also be a quick acknowledgment of the integrity of the files. Customers will know if their files are ok and ready to proceed in the process, or if modifications are needed. InSite will also provide a soft-proof of files for customer approval.
